We as a society shape the landscapes around us according to our needs. We build homes, we dig graves, we form communities and we destroy them. We are born free and go as we are shaped through this life on earth. With Beyond our Control we are questioning how nature is forming the lanscape of our own body and mind. What is happening to us when we walk on foreign ground, breathe different air?

The photographs, sketches and texts serve as a documentation of the changes we went through. Emotional as well as physical. Changing the way we perceive what surrounds us and changing the way we feel. First subtle and physical changes may include redness and freckles resulting from the sun. But what happens beyond this? Does our environment shape us the same way we shape our environment?
